Over the coming months, we will be investing in upgrading the site of the existing Driving Range to become the premier practice, entertainment, and golf learning centre in Melbourne, ensuring its future for the residents of Albert Park and the greater community for years to come.
The works to be completed are extensive. The current reception/shop will be demolished to make way for a modern building with a café, function facilities and rooftop bar that opens onto the upper level of the Driving Range and overlooks the Albert Park Lake.
The Driving Range bays will be available throughout this process but will undergo a considerable makeover. The changes will allow space for an additional 9 Driving Range bays, 5 outside bays at the eastern end of the Range and 2 undercover upstairs and 2 downstairs.
We will see the addition of Trackman Range Technology included in each bay; the first in Australia. Where you will be able to track ball flight, distance, hit targets and play games.
We will also see the addition of two professionally designed 18-hole mini golf courses.
At times there will be some challenges to our normal opening hours, disruption and noise, but the renovations have been planned to allow the Driving Range to remain open as much as possible whilst the works are undertaken.
We look forward to taking you on this journey with us and presenting you with new and exciting facilities in 2023.

Upgrade and reinforcement of boundary fencing and the installation of coloured greens and Driving Range flood lighting.
The maintenance shed and ball return will be installed at the site of the previous bunker at the western boundary of the Driving Range. This will make way for the 36-hole mini golf course that will be completed towards the end of the project.
The existing shop will be demolished to make way for the new building. In the interim the shop will be relocated to a temporary site office. Once this process commences the current entry point for the Range will be closed and a new access point open on Aughtie Drive.
The construction of the new building will take approximately 6 months to complete. During this time the Driving Range will remain OPEN. At times we will require parts of the Range to be cordoned off while the bays are upgraded and the Trackman Technology installed, but we will ensure there are ample bays available for use at all times.
Two professionally designed 18-hole mini golf courses with a native aesthetic will be installed encompassing the area of our original maintenance shed, continuing across the previous entrance and the location of the current chipping green. Once the removal of the temporary site offices has been undertaken, construction of a new chipping green will take place in that location.
The Driving Range will remain OPEN for most of the time during the building works. There may be times that we need to close for short periods, or just small sections of the Range to allow for works to be completed, but the majority of the time the Range will remain open. If at any time full day closures are required, we will communicate this with as much notice as possible via our website, onsite and through our google hours.
We are expecting construction to take 6-8 months and will be completed in stages.
The Golf Learning Centre will remain open with Golf Lessons and Custom Fitting the least affected by these works. Bookings can continue to be made with our staff onsite, by calling the Driving Range on 9696 4653 or via our online booking platform.
The Driving Range carpark will remain accessible. You will still need to make your way into the temporary shop to purchase a parking permit and place it in your vehicle. Other parking options remain accessible either within the MSAC carpark, metered parking on Aughtie Drive or the on-street parking on Canterbury Road
Gloves, golf balls and merchandise will be available in the temporary reception, but a reduced footprint will mean that we are no longer able to stock some larger items. If you require a specific item, please see our staff as we can always order it for you.
A reduced putting green as well as our bunker will remain open during these works. Our chipping green has been removed to make way for mini golf. In the interim chipping is available from the bays. Once the building works are complete a new chipping green will be created in the site of our temporary offices.
